The Indians adapted well to the conditions on the Great Plains.
2 a) The Great Plains is a vast open space in the United States with little wood and resources and the main inhabitants were Native American Indians. It did contain rocky mountains in some areas. The plains were mainly empty in most parts but did however contain herds of buffalo and other animals and of course the Indians.
b) Indians lived in tepees because for many reasons like it was a conical shape so with strong winds it flowed over instead of blowing it over, its made out of buffalo skin which is the Indians primary source for everything so there wasn't a lack of it. There was a shortage of wood on the plains so it was perfect that the tepee only need about 5 or 6 sticks of wood to keep it together. It also had flaps at the top of the tepee to let smoke out and make it cooler and to shut to keep the heat in. The tepee was also easily transported and was compact so it made it quick to pack away a tepee which was essential when Indians are on the move.
